Welcome

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog. As if I don't have enough to do, I've decided to begin blogging. Mainly to keep out-of-town family members updated on our family. But also, as a mother of two and a stay-at-home mom, I'll take some adult conversation in any form -- so please comment!! If you are someone who does not know me personally, please feel free to read my profile.

In a nut shell (and I really mean "nut shell"!), first and foremost, I'm a loving wife to a wonderful Christian man. We've been married about two and half years. I'm also a proud mother of two precious little girls --- God's most miraculous gifts to our family. You'll see me refer to Maddy1 - my oldest daughter just under 2 years of age, and Baby Lulu - almost 6 months old. Of course, these are not their real names, but you get the drift - the number proceeding the name is their age (stolen from my bloggin sister-in-law).

You may be wondering why I chose "Striving for Divine Love" as the title for my blog. Well, Websters Dictionary defines divine as 1 a: of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God or a god b: being a deity c: directed to a deity 2 a: supremely good : superb b: heavenly, godlike. I've been praying that God would guide me, as a mother and as a wife. How can I be better? What traits are important to be a good wife and mother. And the one thing that God keeps revealing is. . . LOVE!

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word . . ." Ephesians 5:25&26

"Love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength" Deuteronomony 6:5

And the list goes on . . . and so, I believe that Jesus Christ is commanding us to love divinely. I know, that I'll never be able to fully accomplish "divine love". But, I want to constantly strive towards that -- not only with my husband, but also with my children, with family, with friends and even with strangers. As I continue in this blogging journey, you'll hear more about this ---

My inspiration for this blog comes from my sister-in-law. She's had her blog for a couple of years now and I love reading it. She always has the most interesting posts and I'm able to keep up with her family via her posts. So . . . I won't say that this blog will be interesting to most people, however, to my family and friends, thanks for reading!

Oh, Summer, I am delighted!!! What a wonderful name and intention behind your blog. I'm eagerly looking forward to more!

You may want to change it to allow anonymous comments--that's the only way non-bloggers or non-registered users can comment. Keep the word verification and you'll rarely get anything weird.

Let me know if I can help with anything else. It'll be great to "get to know you" even better this way!

Blessings--

Jeanne
