I should change the name of my blog . . .

to"Striving for Healthy Children." Seriously, I know it's been a while -- life has been crazy around here. One child with a double ear infection and upper respiratory infection along with a yeast infection -- the other child needing breathing treatments every 4 hours. Ya'll ---- I'm all infected out! So, I know I should have taken a moment to check in, but you'll just have to forgive me.

Tomorrow, we are back to the doctor to check Maddy's oxygen level and see if we need to continue breathing treatments. Baby Lulu is on antibiotics and was supposed to have her "well check" at that appointment. Instead, the doctor will be checking her ears to see if they are clear; checking the yeast infection to make sure the cream is working; and checking her oxygen level and chest to make sure that she doesn't also need breathing treatments.

With a good visit to the doctor tomorrow, I hope to be back up and running here at the blog.

To my faithful readers --- please, please come back and I'll try to have something blog worthy!

HI, I had to do the breathing treatments with Taylor when she was little, she has outgrown the asthma now. But something I learned along the way that might be helpful (they love to give you the machines, they get huge money from the insurance companies for them) ask your pediatrician about liquid Albuteral. It's a syrup, tastes pretty good, and if your baby is anything like Taylor and HATES something covering the face area, it's a HUGE lifesaver. I would have never have known (no doctor ever volunteered) until we went to the emergency room one night and Taylor fought them tooth and nail so they wouldn't put that mask on her face.

Also, keep faith. If they build immunity when they are little, they are usually healthier kids once they start school. I know it's a small consolation, but a little bit of hope when the kids are all sick helps sometimes.
