Have You Been BOO'd?
I took the liberty of "BOO"ing my neighbors this week. What am I talking about? Well, it's this fun little game in which you leave a treat at your neighbor's door. There is this cute little poem and sign that you leave with the treat. It's supposed to be done anonymously. So, late last Thursday night, I ran over to my neighbor's house, put the treat by the door, rang the doorbell and RAN! Sounds easy enough, right? So, I moved on to the second neighbor's home. I knew this home would be harder to "BOO" because it's located on a corner lot, thus making it very hard to flee without being spotted. So, I crept up to the door, put the treat at the door and then OH.MY.GOODNESS I hear a car coming down the street. I peered around the corner and crouched down. It's the UPS guy pulling straight up in front of the house. Immediately I see him squinting and trying to see what I'm doing. So, I wait to see if he's actually dropping off a package at this house or the house next door. Oh, ok, he's headed towards the house next door. Hurry, quick, ring the doorbell and run. So, I did. I ran. I hid on the other side of their truck that just happened to be parked on the street. And as I'm crouched down by the truck, my neighbor, the "BOO"ee, came out onto her front lawn to try and spot the "BOO"er. And wouldn't you know it? Neighbor Peter and dog Monty just happened to be walking down the road at that time and spotted some lunatic crouched down beside the truck (yes, I mean me!) So, I try to wave him by as I whisper and say that I'm playing a game. Well, Neighbor Peter understood me perfectly, but Monty . . . OH.NO.SIREEE, he wasn't having any part of that. So, Neighbor Peter is practically dragging Monty away from me, all the while the "BOO"ee is looking in our direction wondering what in the heck is going on over there! Neighbor Peter, being the good sport he is, waved her off saying something about Monty had spotted a cat. So, after the "BOO"ee had retired back to the indoors, I thought it best to explain my fun little game to Neighbor Peter and then swear him to secrecy. Needless to say . . . Y'all, I am out of shape!!!! I got home and I was so winded! Seriously! And it serves me right I guess. 'Cause this is a child's game. And what is a thirty year old women doing running around the neighborhood after dark ringin' doorbells FOR.GOODNESS.SAKE!
I know Huney . . . you must be so proud! This is the kind of stuff that I do when I'm left without my husband's supervision!
Anyhooo . . .
Stay tuned . . . 'cause tomorrow starts . . .

Things that scare me!
This post is written for October's Write Away contest over at Scribbit.
Things That Scare Me
1. Walking into my daughter's room, looking in her crib and finding that she has gone #2 and taken her diaper off. Poo is everywhere!
2. Spiders . . . living, dead, fake . . .makes no difference. Spiders are good for an instant heart attack!
3. Being pregnant only 6 months after delivering my first child! You laugh, but seriously, that happened. And it sure scared the daylights out of me! Yep, being a mama to two in fifteen short months is a reality check for anyone.
4. Driving in rain. I'm absolutely terrified of driving when I know the roads are wet. I feel a little out of control and I'm always afraid the car is going to slide. Ok, little confession: that actually happened. I was sixteen, it was late, I was driving in the rain and tried to make a left hand turn and then all of the sudden, I lost control and the car went spinning. I ended up in the other lane turned completely around. It was one of the scariest nights of my life. But could you not tell my Dad, please? Let's just keep this between us, ok?
Oh yes, now back to my list . . .
5. Snakes - if the heart attack from a spider doesn't kill me, a snake will. 'Nuff said! I can't even discuss them without shivering!
6. The noise our can lights in our kitchen make after being on all day, and now it's dead of night and completely quiet and yes, I'm all alone and oh my goodness, what was that noise? Some one's breaking in! I should call the police! Where's my cell phone? (fumbling in the dark) Oh wait, no! It's those stupid lights in the kitchen cooling off! Uuuuugggggghhhh!
7. Being chased. Stop laughing! Seriously, I'm afraid of being chased. Even if it's for a game or just because, don't do it! I.HATE.IT! What starts off as a game, me laughing having a good time, running from someone, turns into panic and oh my gosh I can't stop running because this person will catch me. Oh no, I'm freaking out, stop chasing me, STOP chasing me, STOP.CHASING.ME! Seriously! Grow up already!
8. And my last and only serious "thing that scares me" is cancer. It's everywhere! And everyone has it! Well, not everyone. But I venture to say that most people have been affected by it in some way or another. Either a love one has had it or a friend of a friend . . . scary! And it just shows up. You're living life, having a good time and then all of the sudden, BAM! (Did I scare ya?) Cancer! Thank goodness my faith and trust lie reside in the Lord Jesus Christ or I'd REALLY be scared!
So, I hope that you have enjoyed my list. Thanks to Michelle over at Scribbit for hosting this piece of bloggy fun! Please feel free to leave me a comment telling me what scares you . . . or are you too scared to comment?!?

I need a face lift . . .
Ok, not me . . . but my blog seriously needs one. This picture under my header has GOT.TO.GO! I'm not sure what I'm going to use to replace it. But, I'm going to try to do a little lift here, a little tuck there, a little nip over there! So, stay tuned and let me know what you think. And if you have any suggestions, please, please leave me a comment. Unless you're one of those people who just lurk . . . I'm not naming any names . . . cough! Teena cough! Hey . . . just kidding! I love visitors -- lurkers, commenters, whatever!

Help Megan find jeans!

Hi everyone! My good friend Megan over at Fried Okra is looking for a new pair of jeans. She's declared September as "New Jeans Month." She has recently put her old faithful pair of DKNY jeans to rest (don't mention it to her, it's still a fresh wound!) She's asking all of us here in bloggityville for suggestions on what jeans she should purchase. Seeing as how I've been wearing maternity clothes for the past two years, I wouldn't be the best person to ask . . . unless you'd like to shop at Motherhood. However, I thought my hip 14 year old neice and others visting my blog might have a few suggestions for my friend. Oh . . . and she's not asking for free advice. Oh no m'am -- she's giving away some gift cards over there at Fried Okra Manor. So, go on, head on over there and get her some help. Oh, and by the way, I hope to be shopping for some regular jeans myself. So, feel free to leave me a comment also!
